Ouessant

Ouessant model

The Ouessant Guitar, a model created in the early 2000s, is a small 16" jumbo format, quite close to OM in size.

It is a synthesis of all my acoustic research and the developments experienced over the years to improve the designs of my acoustic guitars; the type of enclosure, the open headstock, access to the truss-rod adjustment, the side vent, the use of non-tropical wood or Klas for the body, offering several top options, spruce, red- cedar or sitka, and various possibilities of always prestressed braces.

The different table bracings, Spider, Lattice, Eventail, are innovative due to the principle of pre-tensioning the soundbars.

The placement of its vent is the result of a natural evolution which frees up the table for better mobility.

The use of regional woods: a priority

My desire to return to the use of non-tropical woods is not new, starting with the realization that we can probably stop systematically using rosewood or mahogany to make guitars.

Ash, corm, walnut, among others, are regional woods which offer very interesting qualities for the body of the guitar, in density, dynamics, elasticity, as long as they are used in the right thicknesses.

My soundboards are made of Jura or Dolomite spruce, or red cedar, from Canada and if possible from Central Europe. I sometimes also offer sitka.

Linen fiber composite, Klas. (Kopo Linen Acoustic Solution)

The use of composite in guitars is also a long-standing practice, but I wanted to move away from the too frequent use of carbon, which is very unecological in all respects.– Linen fiber constitutes a real alternative, natural, warm, and offers sufficient mechanical qualities for a guitar.

Concept -With the same design as the acoustic versions built in wood, the body is laminated in bio-composites, linen fabric and resin selected for its mechanical behavior.

Dublin

Dublin Model

Dublin Klas: Efficiency and ecology

The Dublin Guitar, a more recent version in my range, is a 14" parlor model, quite close to the 00 Martin redesigned to my taste.

The comparison to the Martin stops there, the characteristics and the manufacturing concept being those of the Ouessant, the type of enclosure, the open head, access to the truss-rod adjustment, the side vent, the use of non-tropical wood or Klas for the body, and I offer the same top options, spruce, red-cedar or sitka, as well as the same bracing possibilities, always pre-stressed, fan-shaped, Lattice or Spider 2.

Molène

Molène model

Mullein B1, always in non-tropical wood

After the linen version, here is the walnut version of the Molène, my new steel string acoustic guitar model.

With the Molène, the principle is to offer a model with a traditional appearance, which nevertheless brings together the developments and innovations that I have developed on my Ouessant model over several years.

Walnut, a medium density wood (between 0.5 and 0.6, denser than mahogany and less than most rosewood); if used in a suitable thickness, provides great flexibility and sufficient shine for a balanced tone.

This model : Red cedar top, Jura walnut chest, basswood neck, and Richlite fingerboard, compressed paper-based materials.

Molène L1: eco-composite body

The eco-composite body in particular, molded shell in linen fiber and "green-epoxy" resin, whose very rounded shape of the bottom and contours provides both great ergonomic comfort and very interesting acoustic restitution.

The linen fabric is transformed in Normandy, produced locally near the Lineo company, which is extremely satisfactory in terms of ecological impact.

The density, the weight of the shell that we laminate, is established in order to get as close as possible to the mechanical behavior of the wood, but by providing more resistance to shocks as well as variations in temperature and humidity.

Molène L1 - 12 eco-composite strings

For this 12 strings, I made the choice of one red cedar table "double skin" with a honeycomb core, pre-stressed spider brace.
